Laboratory for Environmental Analysis LAM) performs a wide range of chemical analysis from following type of samples:  water, soil, air, natural gases, sludge, industrial and vegetation samples.

List of analysis accreditated by RENAR:

1.Water

    1. Metals determination by Atomic Spectrometry;
    2. Determination of ammonium content, phenol index, total cyanides, hexavalent chromium, anionic surfactants and  dissolved sulfides by UV Spectrophotometry;
    3. Determination of petroleum products by Infrared Spectrometry;
    4. Determination of pH and electrical conductivity by electrochemical analysis;
    5. Determination of solvent extractible substances, suspended matters, CCO-Mn, CCO-Cr and (CBOn) for undiluted and diluted samples by volumetric methods;
    6. Determination of total organic carbon (TOC) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC), the content of bounded nitrogen after oxidationto nitrogen oxides by N/C Analyzer;
    7. Determination of fluorides, chlorides, nitrates, nitrites, orthophosphate and sulfates by Liquid Ion Chromatography;
    8. Determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) by High Performance liquid chromatography;
    9. Determination of some insecticides such as organoclorurates, polychlorinated biphenyls, chlorobenzenes, determination of volatile halogenated hydrocarbons, determination of BTEX content by Gas Chromatography.

2.Soil

    1. Metals determination by Atomic Spectrometry;
    2. Determination of cyanides by UV Spectrophotometry;
    3. Determination of pH by electrochemical analysis;
    4. Determination of water content and total hydrocarbons content by gravimetric methods;
    5. Determination of petroleum hydrocarbons/ mineral oils by Gas Chromatography.

3.Natural gases

    1. Determination of gas composition and caloric power calculation by Gas Chromatography.

4.Air

    1. Determination of sedimentable powders, suspended powders, PM10 and PM2.5 by gravimetric methods;
    2. Noise measurement;
    3. Determination of physical parameters (speed, flow, temperature, humidity and pressure on sampling site), determination of gases concentrations (O2, CO2, CO, SO2, NO, NO2) from gaseous effluents by on-site analysis, determination of mass concentration of total gaseous organic carbon in waste gases using a FID detector.

LAM performs, at customer’s request, other type of analysis by applying appropriate testing methods (ISO, ASTM) or other methods validated in laboratory.

The quality of chemical analysis performed in LAM is assured by obtaining and maintaining RENAR certification and by participating at interlaboratory schemes.
